Natural Factors Pancreatin Plus Enzymes is a broad spectrum of enzymes to assist and enhance normal digestion. A full-strength undiluted pancreatic enzyme that is eight times stronger than regular pancreatin enzyme, this formulation also contains plant enzymes to aid digestion.
The pancreas is a digestive organ in the abdomen that lies just below the stomach. Its primary job is to produce enzymes required for the digestion and absorption of food. Enzymes secreted include lipases that digest fat, proteases which digest proteins, and amylases which digest starch molecules.
When the pancreas is not secreting sufficient amounts of enzymes, symptoms such as abdominal bloating and discomfort, gas, indigestion, and the passing of undigested food may appear. Some people may also develop an overgrowth of intestinal yeast Candida albicans.
Natural Factors Pancreatin Plus Enzymes is a broad spectrum of enzymes to assist and enhance normal digestion. It is a full-strength undiluted pancreatic enzyme that is eight times stronger than the USP (United States Phamacopeia) standard.
Additional enzymes in this formulation add even greater benefit: Peptizyme SP is also called “silk worm” enzyme as it is the enzyme used to break down the cocoon of the silk worm. Papain, from papaya, helps the body digest proteins, fats, and sugars. Bromelain, isolated from the pineapple, aids digestion by breaking down protein molecules. Amylase breaks down carbohydrates and sugars while lipase breaks down fats. Amla, an Indian name for the plant Amlica embilicus (Indian Gooseberry) is an antioxidant and source of vitamin C to enhance the absorption of the enzymes.
