Description
Actual marshmallow, the herb, is nothing like the puffy sugary candy that received its name, although it was once a main ingredient in French confectionery. Its powdered roots are known for their mucilaginous properties -- they become gooey when mixed with water, which can coat and soothe inflamed tissues -- which makes it an appropriate supplement for relieving dryness or irritation in the respiratory system (particularly to relieve the irritation of the oral and pharyngeal mucosa and associated dry cough). The marshmallow root encapsulated here was organically grown by Trout Lake Farm, in the State of Washington.
